A dry van is an enclosed, non-refrigerated trailer. It suits general freight that travels well inside a closed box, including palletized goods, boxed products and full truckloads.

How we help

  1. Review the freight

We confirm the commodity, pallet or piece count, weight and whether it can stack.

  2. Check that a van fits

We look at how the freight loads through the rear doors and whether anything needs an open deck instead.

  3. Confirm dock access

We ask about docks, forklifts and any appointment rules at each location.

  4. Match a carrier partner

We look for suitable equipment for the freight and the lane, subject to availability.

Loading access and equipment

Docks

Most van freight loads at a dock with a forklift or pallet jack. If either end has no dock, tell us early so liftgate or other options can be reviewed.

Rear-door loading

Van freight goes in through the back of the trailer. Long, tall or crane-loaded freight may belong on an open deck.

Equipment selection

Trailer sizes and features vary by carrier. We confirm what fits your freight rather than assuming one size.

Less than a full trailer

If you are not filling a trailer, a partial load or LTL shipment may suit you better.
